Geetha is an experienced counsellor with a background in Psychology and Early Childhood Education having completed studies both in India and Australia. Geetha is a holistic, thoughtful, and empathic practitioner who enjoys spending time getting to know people from all walks of life. Her clinical experience is in mental health working across public, private, and not for profit settings in Australia and India. Geetha has a particular interest in working with women, culturally and linguistically diverse clients and migrants (resettlement). She works in the areas of general counselling, anxiety and depression, relationship issues, grief and loss, stress and adjustment issues, and trauma. She has experience working with older adults and individuals with special needs.
Geetha is a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), and Member of Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). Geetha’s practice focuses on a client centred approach with an eclectic blend of evidence-based strategies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.
