Katia Cannalonga

Hi there – My name is Katia and I am a Registered Psychologist. I believe in a client-centered approach that prioritises your unique life pathways and needs. My aim is to create a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore your current life path and beyond. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, distressed, or just need a safe space to process life’s ups and downs, I’m here to help.

I offer Individual Therapy for Children, Adolescences and Adults across the life span. I also offer telehealth appointments which means that therapy can be accessible no matter where you live in Australia.

With a warm, collaborative, and engaging style, I support clients in working through a wide range of diverse life challenges. I bring a strong commitment to everyone I work with, ensuring clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. At the heart of my work, I believe that every individual is the expert in their own life. My role is to support, understand and challenge clients through their emotional, cognitive and behavioural exploration.

I have experience working with clients who present with anxiety, depression, OCD, panic attacks, autism, ADHD, trauma, grief, stress and burn out, self-esteem and body image, relationship issues, alcohol and other substance use.

I work closely with clients to clarify their goals and empower them with the tools and insights needed to manage symptoms, build resilience, and create lasting change in their mental health and wellbeing. This is achieved through evidence-based therapies including, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectic behavioural therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing and emotion-focused therapy.

The most important part of any therapeutic journey is the rapport built between a client and their therapist. The best outcomes will arise from a space where you feel that you can be your complete self. I am happy to offer a 15 minute phone call before booking in your initial appointment.
